Los Obama no han pedido "nada especial" para su estancia en la Costa del Sol 

La familia Obama no ha pedido 'nada especial' para su estancia en un hotel de lujo de la Costa del Sol durante la primera semana de agosto, una visita privada a la que no está previsto que acuda el presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, que permanecerá en su país, según la Casa Blanca.

 

La primera dama estadounidense, Michelle Obama, y una de sus hijas -Sasha, de 9 años- se hospedarán junto a un grupo de amigos en el hotel Villa Padierna, un establecimiento de cinco estrellas gran lujo ubicado en Benahavís (Málaga), operado por la compañía americana Ritz Carlton y rodeado por tres campos de golf.

Su propietario, el empresario Ricardo Arranz, ha manifestado a EFE que la visita de la familia Obama, 'una de las principales del mundo', es 'absolutamente positiva' para la recuperación del turismo de calidad en Marbella y su entorno, caso de Benahavís.

Arranz ha asegurado que el hotel funcionará normalmente durante la visita de Michelle Obama, prevista a partir del 4 de agosto, y ha aclarado que el edificio 'no se ha cerrado para ellos', por lo que podrán compartir estancia con otros clientes.

De hecho, 'lo especial' de la estancia de la familia Obama es que 'no quieren nada especial', ha afirmado el empresario, quien ha explicado que la reserva de habitaciones, en torno a una treintena, ha sido gestionada con Ritz Carlton, e incluye algunas para el servicio de seguridad.

Aunque Barack Obama no tiene previsto desplazarse en esta ocasión a España, según ha indicado a EFE un alto funcionario de la Casa Blanca, el sector turístico de la Costa del Sol espera que finalmente haga una visita 'fugaz' a su familia.

Además, las vacaciones de Michelle Obama en Benahavís coincidirán con el cumpleaños de su esposo, que cumplirá 49 el 4 de agosto.

El hotel Villa Padierna Golf & Spa, que funciona desde hace cinco años, ha sido elegido recientemente el mejor hotel español y el veintiocho del mundo en una clasificación que elabora el operador Expedia.

Inspirado en las construcciones de la Toscana italiana, el hotel cuenta con 160 habitaciones y villas, cuyo precio oscila entre los 250 y los 3.000 euros por noche, y un anfiteatro, tres restaurantes y dos piscinas, entre otras instalaciones, e incorpora numerosas obras de arte en su decoración.

El municipio en el que está ubicado el hotel Villa Padierna, Benahavís, está situado entre Marbella, Estepona y Ronda, y es conocido como el 'comedor' de la Costa del Sol Occidental por su variada oferta gastronómica.

Benahavis.

Benahavis is a beautiful mountain village. A historically Moorish village, full with ruins and stones. Only 7 km inland. You take the road from San Pedro, of the Coast between Marbella and Estepona and drive up in the mountain road, into the village which offers you a panoramic and breathtaking view of the whole Coast.
Nestled in the mountains, 500 metres above sea level, this charming, white village of Benahavis is lying between the Sierra de Palmerita and Sierra Bermeja and crossed by three rivers. There is a profusion of pines, chestnuts and corn oaks, surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation.

The village has become very popular -. It has several new developments which are popping up all the time. In spite of this, the village is remained remarkably unspoiled, with the winding narrow streets with huge parking problem, typical in the Pueblos Blancos (white villages) in Andalucia. The other side of town nestling nearby the old quarter consists of white washed houses and narrow winding roads, has been managed to maintain its quaint village feel.

Benahavis is known for tree things. Their fabulous gastronomy food, the golf courses and for the beautiful area Las Angosturas.

Gastronomy.

It has over 20 top-class restaurants, the highest concentration of high class restaurants in Marbella region and it draws visitors by the thousand who comes simply to savour the cuisine, it has also a multitude of Spanish tapas bars of excellent quality should a light snack be preferred. Prices are depended on witch restaurant you eat at, but it will always be good value for money.

Monte Mayor Golf Course.

Set in the mountains of Benahavis, Monte Mayor golf course is one of the most spectacular golf courses on the Costa del Sol with cascading waterfalls and the most superb views you will find in any location. The quality of greens and the natural beauty of the surroundings will make your round of golf unforgettable. Originally considered was a golf course to play perhaps only once at. This opinion has changed over the years, many golfers enjoying the challenge time and time again. It is a par 71, length 5345 meters golf course.

Las Angosturas.

Benahavis is one of the most mountainous areas on the western end of the Costa del Sol. The municipality extends to 14,575 hectares with more than seventy percent of this area being officially classified as of environmental interest. It has recently been declared a Monument of Natural Interest, having a great variety of animal and vegetable wealth.

 One of the most beautiful parts of the area is Las Angosturas, rich in wildlife and vegetation and ideal for rural tourism, adventurous riding, trekking and mountain bike cycling right through the year.

 Among the more common animals and birds to be seen here are rabbits, partridges and other bird species. One may also see, with luck, a rare deer species called the Moflón del Atlas in Benahavis, the only place outside Africa where this animal lives wild. Other animals here include the deer, fox, genet and mountain goat. The mountain landscape is also a perfect habitat for various species of birds of prey.

The region is heavily wooded, with plenty of oaks, chestnut trees, pines, cork trees and arbutus, along with the typical Mediterranean herbs like rock rose, thyme and rosemary.
