At night the area is popular for its restaurants, bars and clubs, including well-known venues such as Trader Vic's and Salduba while other well venues such as Dreamers and Oliviá Valère's nightclub are just down the road. The marina is home to large expensive yachts and smaller pleasure craft alike, Shaf - King Fahd's boat is moored near the old tower and is a well known point of reference. In terms of other leisure activities Puerto Banus is home to an Aquarium and a multi screen cinema showing films in English.

Puerto Banús
It is a very valuable tourism enclave for the town of Marbella and Malaga province.
It is one of the jewels in the crown of Marbella. This tourist enclave was inaugurated in May 1970. The architect who took part in the design and construction of Beverly Hills, Noldi Schreck, convinced fellow architect José Banús that the ideal for the area would be not to build enormous skyscrapers but an Andalusian village with a marina and it was the first port designed by one sole architect. Within a few years the idea became reality: the opening was attended by important personalities from show business, royalty and culture, such as director Roman Polanski and the then Prince of Asturias, now King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. The master of ceremonies was a very young Julio Iglesias, who sang for the guests for a 125,000 peseta fee.
Its rise to become one of the most exclusive places in the world would not have been possible without the cooperation of the area’s excellent  climate. Protected to the north by the coastal mountains and the Penibética mountain range, it has a microclimate with produces an annual average of 18 degrees Celcius. Puerto Banús is visited by 4.4 milion people a year.
Thanks to its infrastructure, the yachts in Puerto Banús do not suffer the effects of storms. Its interior waters are calm. Among its technical characteristics certain facts stand out, such as its 915 berths for yachts up to 50 meters in length with a maximum draft of six meters. This means that almost one thousand  boats can be berthed in its more than ten hectares which are protected by sheltering breakwaters.
Some of the hotels here are classified as the best in the world. Among its streets one finds luxurious designer shops such as Dior and Gucci and luxury cars are a common sight. In the port the trend for opulence is continued by the presence of some of the most modern and expensive yachts in the world. Here, tourists can find international restaurants, including Chinese, Japanese, Iranian and Italian.
