Once a small fishing village, this area dates back to the 16th Century.

One of the prettiest places is Plaza de los Naranjos (orange square)buzzing with activity day and night, surrounded by small shops, stately buildings, bars and bisros, it is also home to the Town Hall and Tourist Office where you can pick up a detailed map of the area and visitor information.

Back along the coast you can take a stroll along the Paseo Maritimo, one of the most delightful promenades on the Costa, lined with restaurants and bars, the paseo stretches all the way to Puerto Banus, some 6 kilometres!! MARBELLA, ONCE VISITED NEVER FORGOTTEN

 

The service of the high speed AVE train from Madrid to Malaga opens on 23rd December 2007 by the Spanish President Rodríguez Zapatero. There are 11 trains a day going in each direction. The travel takes only 2.5 hours each way with the maximum speed of 350 km per hour.
RENFE Spanish railways have changed the design of the company website to make it easier for travellers to purchase tickets online. A previous requirement to register prior to purchase has now been abandoned and users can now also change travelling times, cancel tickets and obtain refunds directly to their credit card. The company is now offering discounts of upto 40% on standard ticket prices on long distance services and upto 60% on AVE high speed lines.
